Ever since I started taking photographs, I loved shooting things that were pretty and that I didn’t want to stop looking at. I’ve also been intrigued by the idea of regular people having access to affordable art online. I decided to put those two ideas together and open a print shop called Madeline & Eleanor to sell the photos that make me happy at an affordable price. Madeline & Eleanor is named after my grandmothers. They were two ladies who both encouraged me to always follow my dreams. They both had style for miles and their classic sensibilities rubbed off on me. You can see their influence in the photos I take as I’m drawn to images that have a timeless feeling.

When you buy a photograph from me, you’re buying flexibility as you control the costs of framing your art. You will get a digital image that you can then print in any size you like and frame it anywhere you want, in any style you like (subject to the terms of sale).

Some things to know:

· I often shoot on 35mm film, which means that those images will generally make medium-sized prints.

· I’ve noted the maximum size for printing according to available printers. You might be able to push an image larger than stated if you’re willing to lose some clarity. The maximum size is as big as you can go for optimal printing.

· I’m really into double exposures, which are all done in-camera unless otherwise noted.

· While I love to shoot on film, I firmly believe in using all formats to make photos. Some of my images are shot on an iPhone, some on a fancy-pants DLSR, some on a plastic toy camera, some on vintage film cameras. There are qualities that you get with each format that make interesting photos.

If you’re wondering about me, I started my professional photography career taking photographs of weddings as eLLe PHOTOGRAPHY, which is now Laura Monfredini Photography, and my work has been featured on Style Me Pretty, Grey Likes Weddings, Snippet & Ink, Classic Bride, and Matchbook Magazine. I was also a featured contender in the 2011 Hey, Hot Shot competition sponsored by the Jen Bekman/20x200 Gallery in New York.
